KIDS’ KORNER –My 3-Page Comic Book

Comic book creators Mehki Ra & Kamau Mshale help young participants to create their own 3 page comic book! Come draw, write and color your own publication, then show your work around! Who knows? You may have publishers calling you next week!

STARS Workshop -Power of the Mask

Jihan Thomas artist and educator knows superheroes and why they wear masks. In this fun and hands-on workshop Jihan will talk about various masks that can be seen around the world and how you can make your very own!

Professional Workshop -From Dream to Screen

Ahmad Muhammad, is the author and creator of 18th Avenue Cartoons. Welcome him to ECBACC where he will be delivering key points in taking your story ideas from scripts to moving animated dramas!

Panel -The Process of Storytelling

The proof of a good story is in the writing. Discuss and share with current authors the ways in which writers and writing have evolved to stay fresh, unique and true to themselves.

STARS Workshop -Crafting Cartoons

Jerry Craft will be teaching the basics of cartooning and comic strip art. Kids will enjoy the simple ways they can create their own cartoon drawings from this syndicated and award-winning artist.

Kids’ Comic Con Founder and Archie Comics author, Alex Simmons, has a lot of ideas. Be sure to participate in this workshop where your ideas can become super-cool stories for everyone to read!

Reggie Byers truly sees this talent for creating comic books as a blessing and a gift. In this workshop Byers discusses the steps he took in transforming his talent and skill for airbrushing art into a career.

Thought African culture excluded martial arts? Not True! Brother Kilindi Iyi has been studying, training and teaching various African Martial Art sciences for over 20 years! Don’t miss this demonstration of West and South African fighting styles in the Marketplace Activities Foyer area!
