Congratulations to the CB2 Professional Comic Book Workshop held Saturday, March 19, 2011. Led by comic book stalwarts, Mr. Yumy Odom and Mr. Akinseye Brown, participants not only were offered lessons on improving their skills as writers and artists, but also tips for better business development and management. Discussions of the day spanned from legal and intellectual property issues, balancing your career passion with your home life and responsibilities, and the future of comic books. Continuing CB2 workshops will be scheduled and posted following the 10th Annual East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention.

ECBACC S.T.A.R.S. COMIC BOOK FAIR at BARNES & NOBLE BOOKSTORE

Do you really like comic books? Well, so does The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, Inc. We like them so much that we are teaming up with Barnes & Noble Bookstores to encourage creativity and combat illiteracy one superhero at a time! On Saturday, February 12th and Sunday, February 13th, 2011, ECBACC, Inc. will bring its S.T.A.R.S. program to Center City. S.T.A.R.S, an interactive youth program that uses comic book storytelling to promote literacy, will be offered free-of-charge to the public from 12pm to 3pm at the Barnes & Noble Bookstore located in Rittenhouse Square at 1805 Walnut St. / Philadelphia, PA 19103. In an effort to further support this ECBACC comic book initiative, Barnes & Noble will donate a significant portion of its weekend profits from those sales made in the name of ECBACC! All you need to do is attend our weekend workshop, make a purchase of any store item (including clothing merchandise, games, toys, and café menu items), and submit our special ECBACC S.T.A.R.S. voucher at the register. It’s that simple!

This Saturday, April 25, 2009 Join ECBACC at the Kid’s Comic Con in NY!

The East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention, Inc. (ECBACC, Inc.) will be recognized for our steadfast confidence and unwavering support of the Annual Kids’ Comic Con (KCC) at the Bronx Community College.

The Third Annual Kids’ Comic Con April 25, 2009 is an exciting comic convention specifically designed with kids in mind. The event is jam-packed with workshops, panels, book signings, games, contests, and portfolio reviews. “Our primary goals at the Kids’ Comic Con are to promote reading and creativity in kids’ lives,” said Alex Simmons, KCC founder. “Now more than ever, it is imperative that we supply kids with a continuous flow of positive ideas, skills, and outlets for their thinking, as well as self-esteem building activities, like creating from their own imaginations.” ECBACC will have a table there selling toys, comic books, and other items.
